Refer to Job Description ------------------------------------------ SELECTION PROCEDURE: All applicants are required to take and pass the written examination scheduled above. Areas covered on the examination are math, grammar, spelling, filing, name and number checking, composition of a WORD memo or letter, and a WORD table and timed typing. Typing certificate for 45 net wpm, within the past six months, will be accepted or applicants may take timed typing test at exam. If submitting a certificate, it must be submitted with application, by final filing date (online typing certificates will not be accepted). Computers will be used for typing exercises. Calculators may be used on the examination but will not be provided. ------------------------------------------
POSITION: This is work of moderate difficulty in providing secretarial/clerical assistance in a busy office environment. Ability to multi-task, good customer service skills, computer and bookkeeping skills desired. Performs job-related duties as required. REQUIREMENTS: All applicants must possess the knowledge and skill required for successful job performance as follows: TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: • Two years responsible office experience • Or an equivalent combination of training and experience KNOWLEDGE OF: • Office practices, procedures, machines and equipment • Basic accounting procedures • Supervisory principles and techniques • District organization, policy and operations SKILL IN: • Preparing legal documents from general instructions • Composing letters or memorandums, preparing reports and establishing records and filing systems • Working independently without specific instructions • Establishing effective relationships with other employees and the public • Operating a microcomputer

The following will be taken into consideration as part of the screening process; test results, application, resume, and letters of recommendation/ reference.
