Application screening and interviews will take place immediately after posting of the position. If candidate is selected, the posting will close earlier than two weeks. If interested in the position, please apply as soon as possible to be considered. Per the MDEA contract, all incumbent Coach/Specialist or Teachers on Special Assignment (TSA) must re-apply for assignment at the end of their 3-year eligibility term. Some incumbent teachers are nearing the end of their 3-year eligibility term or otherwise vacating the position. Per article 13.7, candidates, if selected, will be placed on the District's TSA Eligibility list. The list shall be created annually. Eligible TSA's shall remain on the list for three years. The Coach/Specialist or Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) positions may cover a variety of content areas including, but not limited to, math, science, early literacy, technology, English Learners, AVID, history and social studies. High levels of proficiency utilizing technology desired. Google Suite tools are required as well as excellent written and communication skills. A coach should have an understanding of content standards, effective instructional practices, assessment, data analysis, levels of academic rigor and knowledge of elementary, middle, and/or high school level student learning. Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a variety of people are essential. The coach needs to have the ability to demonstrate instructional leadership, effective lessons, provide constructive feedback and facilitate data-driven and equity focused conversations. Coach positions do NOT provide instruction or services to students. CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT: No individual shall be permitted to begin employment until the Department of Justice has ascertained that the individual has not been convicted of a sex offense as defined by Education Code section 44010, a controlled substance offense as defined Education Code section 44011, or a serious or violent felony as defined in Penal Code sections 667.5(c) & 1192.7(c).
