DEFINITION : 

Provides a wide variety of general clerical support functions and monitoring of students. Assists the secretarial staff in relieving them of clerical, secretarial and routine administrative tasks. 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED: 

Receives general supervision from Principal/School Administrative Manager. Receives general instruction from the school secretary regarding daily duties. 

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: 

Answering telephones, giving routine information. 

Distributes authorized medication pursuant to doctor's orders, provides minor medical procedures including, but not limited to, bandages, temperature, check blood sugar, ice packs, and splints to students. Prepares Independent Study contracts, communicates with teachers, parents, and students and tracks student progress in the Student Information System. 

Assembling packets, signatures and assignments from teachers, parents and students. Maintain a filing system, 

Keeps records 

Typing memos and other documents as directed. 

Operating standard office equipment 

Documents Chromebook distribution and collection 

Monitor students while in changing room 

Supports District priorities for a safe and clean campus 

Performs other related duties assigned 

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS, and REQUIREMENTS: 

Experience: 

Any combination of experience and training would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: One year office experience is desirable. Some experience working with children in a supervised environment is desirable. 

Knowledge of: 

Modern office practices, procedures, methods and equipment, including PC Word. Student information systems 

School rules and safety procedures 

Basic math 

Routine business correspondence 

Ability to: 

Work effectively in the absence of supervision.

Carry out written and oral instructions 

Establish and maintain effective relationships. English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation 

Minimum Requirements: 

Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade. Type accurately 35 w.p.m. 

Passage of approved district written test. 

Successfully complete an oral interview. 

Possess an appropriate valid California Driver's License. Fingerprint clearance

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING GUIDELINES: Any combination of experience and training would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: Experience: One year office experience is desirable. Some experience working with children in a supervised environment is desirable. Training: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.

Typing Certificate within the past 6 months validating ability to type the required 35 net w.p.m. must be attached. Online tests not accepted. HS Diploma or Equivalent. TB Clearance Driver's License Fingerprint Screening will be scheduled following the oral interview; clearance will be established prior to fist day of assignment.

  • Driver's License Copy (Valid California Driving License)
  • Proof of HS Graduation (Provide one of the following documents: HS Diploma or HS Transcript showing date of graduation or GED or Higher Degree)
  • Typing Certificate (Test taken within the past 6 months validating ability to type the required 35 net w.p.m. Online test sites not accepted.)
