This is a PT position teaching one period a day to twelve 8th grade students. The program will begin with 8th-grade math and for the accelerated students, complete Algebra 1 as part of the study. We are looking for a gifted and enthusiastic teacher to work with our small class of amazing students! Responsibilities Teach 8th grades (Prealgebra and Algebra 1/ blended) Prepare motivating and stimulating lessons that reflect knowledge of the subject matter, best practices, and child development. Employ a variety of teaching methods and differentiates instruction to engage different learning styles and ability levels in the classroom. Generate a classroom culture that is engaging, student-focused, and effectively managed. Encourage an inclusive classroom that accepts the different perspectives and backgrounds of the students and elicits a greater understanding of the world around them with a global perspective. Effectively and consistently partner and communicate with parents, colleagues, and students. Participate in professional development and be open to new ideas and innovative learning.
