Good Shepherd Lutheran School 5th Grade Homeroom Teacher Grade: 5th Grade Salary: Commensurate with experience and education Good Shepherd Lutheran Elementary School is seeking a full-time 5th Grade teacher for the 2022-2023 school year. The mission of GSLS is to offer an enriched educational environment with academic excellence in a nurturing Christian environment. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of teaching at the 5th-grade level and will have demonstrated success in teaching this age group. We are looking for a professional teacher who will collaborate with the faculty and instructional assistants to plan and implement dynamic instruction in the areas of language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. The candidate should possess the skills and passion necessary to inspire learning and enhance the overall educational experience by fostering students’ academic, ethical, social, and emotional development (Toolbox program) in accordance with our mission, philosophy, and core values. K-5 teachers report to the K-5 Director. Their responsibilities include: preparing relevant and purposeful lessons for teaching the core subjects of Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies in alignment with our curriculum and with Common Core Standards; classroom management; attending staff development in-services, and faculty meetings; communicating students' progress to parents in a timely manner and as required by grade reporting protocol; an extensive field trip/outdoor ed. program, Student Government, keeping current with educational trends and technology tools; versatility and adaptability with extra duties; a self-starter and positive attitude; setting, reviewing, refining and achieving professional goals. Qualifications: Applicants should have a bachelor's degree; experience teaching elementary school and a teaching credential is preferred.
