Pursuant to the State Public Health Officer Order of August 11, 2021 affecting all tk-12 public and private school employees, all El Dorado County Office of Education employees and substitutes are required to either provide evidence of COVID-19 vaccination or participate in weekly COVID-19 testing. Charter College and Career Prep (CCP) is seeking an Academic Support Specialist. CCP is an alternative program and serves students throughout El Dorado County. As an alternative program, some of our students may not have found success in a traditional school, however, many of our students enroll due to the flexibility and opportunities available within our program. The foundation of the CCP program is based upon the strong relationships built between and among staff, students, and their families and caregivers. CCP functions as a non-classroom based independent study program; students attend Monday through Thursday at varying times based on their individual learning plans. The goal-oriented learning plans include opportunities for credit recovery, grade level study, acceleration, and post-secondary goal setting. Teachers provide instruction and support in all curricular areas during Learning Lab and also teach in some limited direct instruction groups. Instruction can be on an individual or small group setting.

Valuable Skills, Knowledge and or Abilities: Knowledge of state curriculum standards, Google Classroom and technology platforms which can be used by Google Classroom. Experience with Web Design, Edgenuity and Odysseyware preferred as well as an understanding of asset management and tracking. Skilled at developing excel spreadsheets for appropriate documentation and an understanding of the independent study model. Experience working with students who have experienced trauma and other barriers to education. Comprehensive understanding of post-secondary options for college and career; provide support and assistance to 9-12 high risk students in the areas of academic planning and goal setting. Ability to provide a safe, thriving, respectful environment. Utilize appropriate methodology in order to meet the intellectual and instructional level of students from varied socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds, and who possess a range of mental and emotional maturity. Job Requirements - Qualifications Experience: Prior job-related experience, preferably in an alternative education environment at the high school level.
