MCOE is led by the elected Merced County Superintendent of Schools and governed by the Merced County Board of Education. While serving as a focal point to facilitate local school/government/community partnerships, MCOE is responsible for the fiscal oversight of each school district in Merced County, hears appeals for student expulsion hearings and interdistrict transfers and operates Green Meadows Outdoor School.

Under the administrative direction of the Principal – Outdoor Education Center, will fulfill those responsibilities necessary to implement a successful environmental education program. Will provide on-call and emergency response as part of room and board package which includes onsite accommodations and meals during the school program. This position is exempt from the classified bargaining unit.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Position requires a High School Diploma and completed college coursework in natural sciences or related outdoor education field and/or experience working in an outdoor environment in an interpretive capacity. No experience required. Valid CPR and First Aid certificates. Ability to work with children, adolescents and adults. Ability to lead singing and/or play a musical instrument. Effective verbal and written communication skills desirable. Upon hire, must present official transcripts, current CPR/First Aid certificate, TB Clearance, DMV Printout, Proof of Auto Insurance, & CA Driver's License.
