This completed application should fully and clearly describe the applicant's education and work experience background. Applications will be kept on file for six (6) months. Contact will be made as written testing, timed typing tests and Orientations are scheduled. If you were/are an MDUSD employee, a full application is still required for any Classified Substitute position. **CalPERS retirees must wait 180 days after retirement before allowed to start supplementing income by subbing so apply one month before so orientation, clearance, onboarding, app access for set up, and first job selection can all be completed before the 6 months waiting period ends.

Must be able to type 35 net words per minute (5 minute timed test). A typing certificate will be accepted if: 1) It is dated within the past six months. 2) Certificate must be on business letterhead with address and phone number of facility where test was taken. (No online typing tests accepted.) Written test consists of math, grammar, interpersonal relations, and spelling. Please copy and paste the link. The Clerical Substitute can expect to work in many types of work situations from the school site offices, to the regular office buildings in the Mt. Diablo Unified School District. Jobs vary from Typist Clerk to School Office Manager, etc. * The Clerical Substitute is to cover for those on sick leave or other leave and also to help fill positions where extra help is needed.
