Let Us Train you to be a SCHOOL BUS DRIVER!!!! The Rialto Unified School District is seeking interested individuals for a 50 - 60 hour School Bus Driver Trainee Program designed to prepare and train for certification as a California School Bus Driver. This program includes 25 to 30 hours of classroom instruction (theory) and 20 to 30 hours of behind-the-wheel (practical). If successful in the program, Bus Driver Trainees will qualify and be eligible for substitute School Bus Driver positions and/or qualify to apply for permanent School Bus Driver openings in the District. *Candidates are responsible for licensing and certification fees. **Average course completion time is 10 to 16 weeks.

**Applicants with a School Bus Driver Certificate who would like to upgrade must include the California Special Driver Certificate and Medical Certificate. Note: Individuals selected for the Bus Driver Trainee Program must pass a background check, pre-employment physical and DOT (Department of Transportation) drug screen. Also, this is a safety-sensitive position; trainees will be subject to random selection for alcohol and controlled substance testing.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS * One year of experience in the operation of a motor vehicle

  • DMV Printout (A current "K-4" DMV Printout dated within the last 30 days)
  • Driver's License Copy (Possession of a valid Class A, B, or C California Motor Vehicle License)
  • Other (One (1) Letter of Recommendation is REQUIRED. The letter MUST be SIGNED and DATED within the last two years. (A Typed signature will not be accepted.)
  • Proof of HS Graduation (Verification of a High School diploma, a GED certificate or a higher degree)
  • Resume
