Mayacamas Countywide Middle School (“MCMS”) is a 6-8th grade public charter middle school that will build on the strength of the proven New Tech Network Project-Based Learning Model while utilizing best-in-class curricular elements to meet the growing needs of Napa’s diverse community of families. MCMS is a diverse by design middle school, where socio-economically and racially/ethnically diverse students – who have diverse learning needs – will benefit from a highly personalized program that differentiates instruction to meet individual students’ needs. The Napa Foundation for Options in Education is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and passionate English-Language Arts Teacher (Certificated) with a single subject credential for our new charter school, Mayacamas Charter Middle School, targeted to open Fall 2022. The teacher reports to the Head of School and is responsible for the teaching of the California Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts, along with the California English Language Arts/English Language Development Framework: Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking they instruct. The teacher fosters a collaborative and stimulating classroom environment for a diverse group of students, as well as fosters a strong collaboration between parents, faculty members, board members and community partners. Because MCMS will be in its first year, we are not just looking for teachers, but for founding educators. We need people who want to work, and can thrive, in a fast-paced, evolving setting, and who demonstrate flexibility, creativity and persistence. MCMS needs educators who want to play a significant role in evolving our model and curriculum, facilitating meetings, designing school systems, and helping to create a school culture that is focused on social-emotional health, high achievement and community. We are searching for educators committed to the love of teaching and building a long-term legacy for Napa families. Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university • Master’s degree in subject matter field or Education (strongly preferred) • Must possess, or be in the process of completing, a current California multiple subject teaching credential; CLAD or BCLAD strongly preferred • Ability to teach 7th and 8th grade, standard and honors Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Personal Characteristics: • Experience with StudySync, Quill, Achieve 3000, and Guided Reading Resources (i.e., leveled libraries) • Familiarity with New Tech Network Reso
