Lower School Teachers Full-Time/Exempt Begins August 1, 2023 - June 7, 2024 Chartwell School is seeking two or more lower school teachers to join our team for the 2022-23 school year. Chartwell is currently open for on-campus learning on our beautiful 60-acre campus in Seaside, CA. One position will serve a multi-aged group of students in grades 3-4 and another group in grades 5-6. We are an independent school on the Monterey Peninsula in coastal California, approximately 100 miles south of San Francisco. Chartwell serves students in grades 1-12, who have been identified as having dyslexia or related language-based learning differences. Class sizes are small and teachers individualize instruction while teaching to small groups. The successful candidate is responsible for understanding student learning profiles and scaffolding language arts, humanities, and/or math instruction to bring students toward grade level in specific academic skills.
