Job related experience within specialized field is required. Targeted, job related education with study in job-related area. Any combination equivalent to: Graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent. A current certificate in Translating and Interpreting in School Environment issued by an accredited College or University or the equivalent is preferred AND three (3) years of increasingly responsible office administrative experience involving written and oral English to Spanish translation and interpretation.

You must include a typing certificate with 45 net wpm or more obtained within the past year and from an educational institution (school district, college or ROP program) at the time you apply. Exception: If you are currently working in a permanent position that required you to previously qualify with a minimum typing speed of 45 net wpm, you do not have to resubmit a new certificate.

Applicants must pass the first test to be invited/considered for the second exercise. Applicants will be notified if they meet the minimum qualifications required to take the written examination. Candidates are required to present a valid picture identification prior to sign-in. Please allow at least 2 or more hours for the exam process. In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, if you need special assistance, disability related modification or accommodations, including auxiliary aides or services in order to participate in the examination, please contact the Classified Personnel Office at 760-255-6034 and allow 72 hours prior notice to enable the District to accommodate such requests.
