This posting is intended to establish an eligibility pool of applicants for anticipated Preschool Teacher openings for the 2022-2023 school year. **Position works 4.5 hours per day, 22.5 hours per week. Benefits eligible. La Mesa Spring Valley Schools offers part-day (8:30 am – 11:30 am) preschool opportunities to 3 and 4 year old children. We provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn, grow and explore. Our preschool classes support each child’s individual academic, physical and social-emotional growth by providing developmentally appropriate lessons, materials, indoor and outdoor space, equipment, and guidelines for active play, movement and exploration that are healthy and safe. Avondale Elementary, Bancroft Elementary, Kempton Street Literacy Academy, La Mesa Dale Elementary, La Presa Elementary, Rancho Elementary and Sweetwater Springs campuses are homes to our State Preschool classes. We also offer SmartSteps, a fee-based preschool program at two locations – Fletcher Hills Elementary and Maryland Avenue Elementary.

Requirements / Qualifications

Must hold one of the following, unexpired California permits: -Child Development Teacher Permit -Child Development Master Teacher Permit -Child Development Site Supervisor Permit -Child Development Program Director Permit If selected, you will need to submit the following prior to employment: -CPR/First Aid certification -Proof of immunization for the following: MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), T-dap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis), Flu (Influenza) or Flu waiver -LiveScan fingerprinting for a criminal background check

MUST ATTACH THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS TO YOUR APPLICATION: - Cover Letter/Letter of Introduction (not more than 1500 words). - Resume (not more than two pages) - 3 Letters of reference/recommendation (written within the last 12 months) - Copy of permit(s) (CA CTC website screenshot is acceptable)
