We prepare students for college starting in preschool Transitional Kindergarten in San Bernardino and Sacramento Counties and are focused on closing the African American achievement gap. GENERAL SUMMARY: The Recruiter is responsible for developing and implementing an annual student recruitment plan that aligns with Fortune School’s student enrollment targets. Fortune School is a network of tuition-free public charter schools open to all students and focused on closing the African American achievement gap. The Recruiter will recruit families in grades Early Start Kindergarten through 12th in Sacramento and San Bernardino County’s. Fortune School seeks a recruiter who is passionate about helping families identify alternative options to traditional public schools by offering its network of charter schools as a viable option to help achieve their child’s educational goals. The Recruiter is a great conversationalist and listener with sales and community outreach experience. Responsible for recruiting students in Fortune School of Education higher education programs – Teacher Credential and School Leadership. Recruit students by developing alumni networks; strengthening consortium partnerships; administering all aspects of recruitment marketing campaigns – college search, job fairs, initiates contact with prospective students to communicate specifics about the higher education programs offered by FSE and the admissions process; encourages prospective students to apply and attend. Responsible for meeting the recruitment/enrollment targets for both higher education programs. Additional Benefits: Paid Time Off : 12 paid sick days, 12 paid vacation days and 2 paid floater days.           GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES: • Utilize database to track the outcome of recruitment strategies. • Work with the Enrollment and Recruitment Manager to set, track and implement student recruitment plan to achieve student recruitment goals. • Coordinate and manage campus/college/community-based recruitment and enrollment activities. • Attend community events and present to local nonprofits and their constituents. • Travel is required to maintain and develop public awareness for the charter and graduate schools; including, seasonal door-to-door canvass activities. • Responds to inquiries from prospective and existing parents and students. • Adjust recruitment strategies to current social environments. • Other duties as required. CHARTER RECRUITMENT DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES: • Follow-up with the families of student applicants and track enrollment data through Smart Sheets and Parent Square. • Communicate with existing families to enroll siblings and access local networks to support recruitment goals. • Develop new initiatives for student recruitment with local head starts, preschools, sports programs, and low performing traditional public schools. • Communicate with prospective families to engage them in Fortune School’s mission, purpose and process of student enrollment by providing clarity and consistency throughout the lifecycle of the lead. • Coordinate activities for Fortune School’s Seasonal Recruiters during community events and community canvassing efforts. • Manages and coordinates community workshops and recruitment efforts; arrange visits, tours, and enrollment meetings for prospective students and parents. • Visits preschools and head starts, speaks to groups and individual parents, and meets with preschool and head start administrators and counselors to promote outreach activities. WORKING CONDITIONS: Environment • Indoor and outdoor activities; frequent travel in personal vehicle. • Overnight lodging is required to fulfill the duties of recruiting in San Bernardino County on a monthly basis. Ability to: • Travel throughout northern California to 60+ school districts, charter schools, and non-public school partners within the 16 counties. • Overnight lodging as required to fulfill the duties of recruiting throughout northern and southern California. • Maintain a positive attitude and a pleasant demeanor at all times.
