Job Summary

Summary: Under the direction of the preschool teacher, provides care and education for preschool children of migrant and seasonal farmworker families. Responsible for continuous supervision of children, substitutes and volunteers. Supports preschool teachers to promote developmentally and culturally appropriate practice. Ensures a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment. Supports comprehensive services that meet the needs of families from diverse cultures. Assists in the planning of appropriate strategies for children's success.

Materials VALID ASSOCIATE TEACHER CHILD DEVELOPMENT PERMIT OR ECE COURSE WORK IN CORE SUBJECTS TO QUALIFY FOR ASSOCIATE TEACHER CHILD DEVELOPMENT PERMIT BILINGUAL PREFERRED (SPANISH/ENGLISH) COMPLETED EDJOIN APPLICATION COVER LETTER RESUME THREE LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION COPY OF ASSOCIATE TEACHER CHILD DEVELOPMENT PERMIT TRANSCRIPTS OF COURSEWORK REFLECTING ECE/CD

Child Development Associate Teacher Permit or higher to meet the State equivalency of the CDA (Child Development Associate Credential) and the Department of Social Services, Title 22 Licensing requirements; continuous progress towards acquisition of an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or equivalent field. Minimum of six (6) months of experience working with children aged 0-5 years in a licensed group setting. Higher education may partially substitute for experience. Must be in possession of, or be eligible for immediate acquisition of valid California Child Development Associate Teacher Permit or higher. Must provide evidence of 16 hours of preventative health practices that include nutrition and current pediatric CPR and First Aid certification.
