Job Summary

Saint Mary’s High School in Stockton, California is a Roman Catholic college preparatory dedicated to forming competent young men and women into conscientious leaders in compassionate service to others for the greater glory of God. The Director of Alumni and Parent Relations will report to the Director of Advancement. The position is responsible for developing and managing a comprehensive alumni relations program and alumni association that will foster and grow relationships with alumni to encourage their active and sustained participation in school alumni events and financial support for the school. The Saint Mary’s alumni community consists of approximately 12,500 alumni of whom approximately 5,000 may be reached via email.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Saint Mary’s High School alumnus preferred but not required. • Bachelor's degree preferred. • Values consistent with the mission of the Catholic Church and Catholic education • Excellent interpersonal, writing and presentation skills • Computer skills: Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint; Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge experience preferred • Self-starter, ability to work without direct supervision • Effective multi-task skills • Flexibility with work schedule; availability to work evenings and weekends as required, with some overnight travel • Ability to work with sensitive information while maintaining complete confidentiality • Ability to organize and complete multiple, simultaneous tasks with close attention to detail and prioritization to meet deadlines • Ability to develop and supervise volunteers

      DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Maintain connections with Alumni constituents o Develop an annual alumni relations plan and calendar, which becomes integrated into the overall strategic advancement plan. o Manage the alumni online community by updating news and events and sending regular e-mails, social media, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, e-newsletters, etc. o In coordination with the Director of Marketing and Communication and Office of Advancement, coordinate all alumni office social media efforts. o Provide content to the editor of the Kettle Newspaper and Traditions Magazine for alumni-related articles. o Develop an outreach program for students to introduce them to alumni activities (Career Day). o Recognize the achievements and milestones of alumni. o Help foster and grow alumni support and participation rates for annual fund and scholarship program. o Establish, analyze and maintain a network of key contacts to aid in development and efforts to strengthen alumni involvement. o Create new and expanded opportunities for alumni involvement that will foster positive alumni relations. o Serve as liaison for other department/school alumni-related events such as athletic events and other important school events. o Continue to grow and foster Alumni Class Captains to assist in planning of school reunions, collection of updated contact information and fundraising. o Maintain current information of alumni in the Raiser’s Edge database. o Ensure current and accurate updates on all information on the alumni section of the website. • Facilitate the school’s alumni cultivation events for maximum participation o Act as project lead for all alumni events. o Plan and implement regional alumni gatherings. o Attend all alumni-related events. WORKS WITH: • Director of Advancement to review and finalize strategic plans. • Advancement Operations Manager to coordinate alumni appeal efforts for the Annual Fund. • Events Coordinator to design and execute alumni events. • Office of Advancement Admin Staff for acquiring and updating alumni information. • Marketing and Communication Department to provide alumni articles for publications & website. • Alumni, staff, volunteers, and vendors to promote teamwork.
