BASIC FUNCTION: Performs regular teacher’s class plan while the teacher is absent.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Must have a valid California teaching permit registered with the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (i.e. Emergency Sub Permit for Prospective Teachers, Emergency Career Sub Permit, Designated Subjects CTE 30-Day Sub Permit, Teaching Permit for Statutory Leave) - BA or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution - Basic Skills requirement, CBEST or CSET
-30-Day Emergency Substitute Teaching Permits are eligible for day to day or short-term assignments (minimum to apply) -Multiple or Single Subject Credentials are eligible for long term assignments (working 20 days consecutively in an assignment) -Educational Specialist Credential for Special Education -Child Development Permit for CDC Programs -Current TB test (within the last 4 years) -COVID-19 proof of vaccination
