East Nicolaus High School is seeking a qualified applicant to fill the position of Head Varsity Football Coach. The coach will work under the direct supervision of the Athletic Director and the general supervision of the Superintendent/Principal and is expected to provide the necessary leadership and to plan, organize, and be responsible for a comprehensive interscholastic football program. The coach will also carry out the objectives of the school athletic program and is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Junior Varsity program. The head coach is expected to maintain effective communication with athletes, school administration, staff, students, parents and the community. Qualifications: 1. Must have experience as a head varsity football coach at the high school or collegiate level, with experience in strength and conditioning OR Head JV football coaching experience for at least two years. OR Head Assistant Coaching experience at the varsity level in high school for at least 3 years for that particular sport (ex: football experience would be offensive/defensive coordinator) 2. Experience formulating and operating a fiscally sound budget including fundraising activities. 3. Have knowledge of current techniques and methods of coaching the sport. 4. Ability to implement appropriate out of season activities for the sport. 5. Demonstrated ability to motivate young athletes to achieve academic and athletic performance.
