EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed in the job description including one (1) year grounds keeping experience. Must possess a valid California driver's license. (Out of state applicants need to get a CA DL within 90 days of employment) Some positions in this classification may require a pesticide applicator's license. WORKING CONDITIONS: Subject to outdoor environment; driving a vehicle to conduct work; seasonal heat and cold or adverse weather conditions;pollen. PROMOTIONAL AND OPEN TESTING – Open to employees of the District and the public with the selection process resulting in one (1) Eligibility List that will be used to fill current vacancies and any future vacancies that occur within six (6) months or until the list becomes exhausted. Current permanent employees of the District will be awarded seniority points as per the contract.

All properly completed applications will be reviewed and the most highly qualified individuals will be invited to continue in the selection process. The process may consist of an evaluation and scoring of application materials, written testing, oral interview and/or performance test to evaluate the applicant’s skill, training and experience.
