MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Two years of paid or volunteer experience working with school-age children in a specialized learning environment; working with special needs children is highly desirable. Under current State and Federal Law, requirements include proof of a high school diploma or its equivalent to be submitted with completed application and meet one of the 3 requirements: A) Completion of 2 years of study (48 semester units) at an institution of higher learning, or B) an Associate Degree or higher, or C) pass a rigorous District-administered assessment that demonstrates the knowledge of and ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing and math. CERTIFICATES: Valid First Aid and CPR certificates (no online CPR certificates accepted).

WORKING CONDITIONS: Subject to lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 60 lbs. and subject to anti-social and assaultive behavior. School classroom environment; subject to exposure to communicable or infectious diseases, emergency medical situations; potential for contact with impulsive, frustrated and agitated students who may demonstrate aggressive behaviors.
