Barstow High School is seeking a qualified applicant to fill the position of Head Varsity Football as a walk-on Coach or with possible teaching assignment if available. The coach will work under the direct supervision of the Athletic Director and the general supervision of the Principal and is expected to provide the necessary leadership and to plan, organize, and be responsible for the comprehensive football program. The coach will also carry out the objectives of the school athletic program and is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Junior Varsity and Freshman programs. The head coach is expected to maintain effective communication with athletes, school administration, staff, students, parents and the community. ATHLETIC COACH MINIMUM QUALIFICATION: • Experience as a head football coach, preferred, or five years as an assistant coach at the high school or college level. • Demonstrated ability to work successfully with students, parents, peers, others, and management, and exhibit positive leadership skills, good sportsmanship, and integrity. • Non-Certificated walk-on applicants must be in possession of an Activity Supervisor Clearance Certificate (ASCC), and a Certificate of Clearance (COC). • A valid CPR/First Aid Certification is required. WITH TEACHING ASSIGNMENT: Must possess a valid Preliminary or Clear California Teaching Credential with EL Authorization or be eligible for a waiver. Must Include: Copy of transcripts, copy of appropriate credential, copies of all test results: CBEST and CSET Relations to the Varsity Head Football Coach position ALL applicants must submit: • Letter of interest • Resume of experience • Three (3) letters of recommendation within last two (2) years Applicants must apply on Edjoin with the above documents.
