Food Service Workers prepare, produce, heat, cook, and serve a variety of foods from fresh, canned, dry, or frozen states according to recipes, and assist in other related tasks in a designated food service production and/or service area. They perform cleaning and sanitizing duties according to HACCP, LA County Health Department, and LAUSD Food Services Standard Operating Procedures. Typical duties performed by Food Service Workers include: -Preparing and producing a variety of foods -Setting up and merchandising food and food service areas, and serving food -Operating kitchen equipment and utilizing kitchenware -Practicing safe food handling procedures -Cleaning and sanitizing, mopping, and disposing of waste according to the Food Services Operating Procedures, OSHA, the State, and L.A. County Health Department procedures -Assisting in taking inventory -Assisting in preparing sales, production, and other reports -Accepting and counting money, tickets, or cards for redemption of foods and beverages All work will be performed on-site and in-person. Please Note: Food Service Workers work 4 to 6.5 hours per day, depending on the budgeted vacant position at each school site.
