REQUIREMENTS: • Education: Education equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade preferably with training or coursework in child growth and development, special education, instructional technology, or closely related field. Must submit proof of passage of the Basic Proficiency Test, if high school graduation is prior to 1981 or high school diploma is not issued by the state of California. • Experience: Six months of paid work experience in a classroom or program for individuals with special needs. OR One year of paid or volunteer experience working with children of various age levels requiring a specialized learning environment. The following additional documents must be uploaded via EDJOIN by the filing deadline in order to be considered in the hiring process (pertains to current employees also): • Proof of education (i.e. high school diploma, college transcripts, copy of college diploma) A scanner to upload required documents is available in the Human Resources office located at 1330 Truxtun Ave.., Bakersfield, CA 93301.

      CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Some positions may require proof of privately owned automobile insurance and the possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle operator’s license. Fingerprint clearance by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met.
