Job Summary

Job Summary

Teach students coping strategies and provide treatment to eliminate or minimize specific communication disorders. Evaluate and assess communication delays with appropriate testing materials to arrive at a clear diagnosis in specific areas such as oral communication, which includes auditory perception, speech and expressive language; and total communication which include alternative modes and written communication. Plan schedules to meet DIS-S/L students weekly Write monthly and annual student progress reports Consult with classroom teachers and support staff to coordinate classroom lessons and target specific social language development in cooperative group skills, self-concept, and daily living skills. This role is during school hours

Spectrum SLPs provide individual and/or small group instructional services to an individual as designated on the student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP). This includes but is not limited to direct instruction prescriptive evaluation, consulting with school staff, parents or guardians, and representatives from the home school district, writing IEP goals and interventions, monitoring student’s progress toward goals and attending IEP meetings.

Master's degree or higher in speech pathology or related field. Active state SLP License. Solid motivational, problem solving, decision making and organizational skills. Willingness to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities and new initiatives. Strong oral and written communication. Highly skilled in working with students with diverse needs.

Requirements / Qualifications
