- Possess (or be in the process of obtaining) a valid and appropriate California Driver's License. Must demonstrate Highly Qualified status using the following education requirements: - High School Diploma or equivalent AND (a) Two years of higher education study (48 semester units or 72 quarter units), OR (b) Possess an Associate's or higher degree, OR (c) Successful completion of a Fontana Unified School District-approved Paraprofessional Certificate and/or Paraprofessional Assessment Exam. Under the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, the law requires that paraprofessionals who assist in classroom instruction must meet the specific educational requirements listed above. Proof of certificates, education, etc., will be required upon recommendation for employment. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION: -Experience working with individuals with special needs, such as: learning disabilities, physical disabilities, emotional disabilities and behavioral disorders. -Experience working in a Resource Specialist Program (RSP) or Special Day Class (SDC) class.

TESTING: Qualified applicants will be notified via email regarding testing for this position. TESTING TO BE TENTATIVELY SCHEDULED BY 12/3/21. INTERVIEWS TO BE TENTATIVELY SCHEDULED BY 12/12/21. As of October 15, 2021, the California Department of Public Health order titled “Vaccine Verification for Workers in Schools” requires unvaccinated or incompletely vaccinated school employees to be tested at least once weekly. Proof of complete vaccination status must be provided prior to employment, or weekly testing will be required.
