At Sparrow we believe that the socio-emotional wellness of our students is crucial for them to thrive as learners. The counselor at Sparrow provides direct individual and group counseling services to address behavior challenges and support the socio-emotional wellbeing of students. Collaborates with teachers, SPED team, parents, staff to support students with accommodations and behavior/socio-emotional goals. Please read the full job description for details and how to apply. Responsibilities Include: • Providing counseling services to children and adolescents, in a school setting. * Organizing and running counseling groups for students K-8th • Attending IEP meetings and collaborating with SPED team to create socio-emotional goals, document services and write progress notes. • Collaborating with teachers, school personnel, related service providers and parents/guardians. • Monitoring progress using observation, data collection and assessment pre/post treatment. * Support our comprehensive school counseling program with tier 1 and 2 interventions * Provide consultation for teachers and staff to support students socio-emotional needs * Conducting SEL in classrooms to support targeted student needs

Resume Letter of Introduction 3 letters of recommendation PPS (preferred but not required)

Valid Pupil Personnel Services Credential authorizing service as a School Counselor OR Valid Pupil Personnel Services Credential authorizing service as a School Social Worker or School Psychologist. OR Valid California Board of Behavioral Sciences license permitting service as Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Educational Psychologist. Comparable out of state license and the ability to apply for California BBS license in one of the aforementioned areas.
