JOB SUMMARY Under the direction of the Director of Student Services the School Nurses ensures the academic, physical and emotional growth of students by assisting school sites in building their capacity to meet the needs of the whole child. The mission is aligned with district goals and priorities. The School Nurse provides services including assessing student health, developing and executing plans for care management, acting as first responders, supervising licensed and unlicensed personnel, engaging in public health functions such as disease surveillance, immunization compliance, and health promotion while creating a climate of health and well-being in the schools.

Valid CA School Nurse Services Credential or eligibility for one. To be eligible for the credential, applicant must have a bachelors degree from an accredited college/university AND a valid Registered Nurse License. CA Public Health Nurse Certificate is preferred.
