Job Summary
Under the supervision of an administrator and general direction of a classroom teacher, assists students with severe disabilities to meet their physical and emotional requirements throughout the instructional day; assists the teacher with record keeping and performs a variety of instructional support duties in developing life skills and/or physical care activities. The work need not be performed in the presence of the teacher, but the teacher retains responsibility for instruction and supervision. REQUIRED ATTACHMENTS: Resume Letter of Intent Two Current Letters of Recommendation (not necessary for current FCUSD employees) Passing the Instructional Assistant Proficiency Test is required, regardless of educational background. If you are recommended for this position, you will be contacted to schedule an appointment.
Upon Conditional Offer of Employment - Department of Justice Criminal Background Check completed at the district office for a fee of $30. If you have lived outside of the state of California in the past 5 years, you will also need to complete an FBI background check for an additional fee of $17.00. - TB Test (Valid for 4 Years) - CPR/First Aid Certification (at time of employment) - Post Offer, Pre-Employment Physical (POPP) Evaluation conducted through the District. Lift test included (MIN 50 lbs). - Complete district training on Mandated Reporter, Covid 19, and Sexual Harassment Please make sure you read the job description thoroughly. This job is to care for special needs students and can include care such as toileting, grooming, dressing and feeding.
