Your role as a substitute teacher is to serve as a stand-in for the regular full-time teacher when they must be away from their classroom. Before class, you'll meet with the office manager to sign-in, receive room keys and to review lesson plans and schedules. TYPICAL DUTIES: 1. Follow regular teacher’s lesson plans in a way that ensures consistency and optimal learning, and that encourages students to participate 2. Assign classwork and homework as necessary, according to lesson plans. 3. Modify teaching styles to fit the learning styles of various students’ needs. 4. Maintain a well-managed classroom and positive learning environment. 5. Supervise students out of class such as in the hallways and in the cafeteria. 6. Create lesson plans, grade classwork, homework and tests and attend parent-teacher conferences and planning with PLCs and attend all staff meetings (for long-term substitute assignments only. 7. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications
• Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with Valid EL Authorization highly desirable • Single Subject Teaching Credential with Valid EL Authorization highly desirable • 30-Day Emergency Teaching Permit • Bilingual (Spanish or ASL) desirable
