Welcome to Griffin Technology Academies - Griffin Technology Academies is located in one of the most affordable areas to live in the San Francisco Bay Area. We are less than 35 miles from downtown San Francisco and thirteen miles away from Napa Valley. Griffin Technology Academies (GTA Schools) is a network of 4 charter schools in Vallejo, California that focuses on providing students with a high-quality education in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields. The first GTA charter, Mare Island Technology Academy Middle and High Schools was founded in 2001, later adding Griffin Academy Middle and High Schools in 2018. GTA Schools serve students in grades 6-12. Griffin Technology Academies offer a variety of programs and services designed to support students in achieving academic success. These include: small class sizes, personalized instruction, extracurricular activities and enrichment opportunities like, burgeoning athletic programs, before and after school care program, early college (dual enrollment, articulation, concurrent enrollment), AVID, and CTE courses. The schools also provide students with access to technology resources, including laptops and tablets. Students in High School have the opportunity for community service and internships overseen by our Work-Based Learning Coordinator (WBL). What makes our schools special is the partnership between families, community, and educators - each committed to preparing students to become active and responsible citizens in a diverse society by engaging students in a challenging curriculum that provides a solid foundation of academic skills in a safe learning environment.       About Griffin Technology Academies: Griffin Technology Academies (“GTA”) serves 1,100 6-12 students in an exciting, high-expectations, intervention-rich environment in urban Vallejo, California. Featuring a high-functioning collegial work environment where Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) lead instruction, GTA’s three schools – MIT Academy high school, Mare Island Technology Academy middle school, and Griffin Academy middle school (a Summit Learning school) – shatter urban stereo-types and provide a dynamic environment where students perform significantly above state and national averages in reading, math, and standardized testing. Graduates meet all UC/CSU course requirements, and 90% of seniors apply and are accepted to 4-year colleges.
