Job Summary

Job Summary

Innovation Education Management is a 501(c)3 responsible for the operational oversight of three successful, growing and financially stable charter schools in California. IEM is deeply committed to furthering parent choice in education and supporting charter schools to conduct operations in an ethical and legal way. Each school is a separate financial entity required to follow generally accepted accounting principles and public school reporting requirements. We are seeking an experienced Accounting Director to support and lead our accounts payable and payroll departments. This person will oversee these departments and ensure the department administrators are well positioned for success. This person will also conduct accounting duties including GL management and financial reporting for all three charter schools. We are seeking an individual with experience in fund accounting and inspired to support the continued financial success of our schools and IEM. This position will work closely with the CEO and manage multiple competing tasks and priorities in an environment that faces frequent unexpected regulatory changes. We are looking for someone courageous, knowledgeable, caring and hard-working to join our amazing team. This position is a mix of technical accounting work and management tasks. The incumbent is responsible to lead and direct the organization’s payroll and accounting functions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board and other regulatory requirements as it relates to California 501(c)3 and charter school requirements. While this role will oversee the IEM family of charter school’s financial departments including Accounting and Payroll, there will also be frequent times when general ledger entries and actual assembly of reports will be required. The incumbent will also contribute to budget preparation, perform historical financial analysis, cash flow planning and assist the CEO
