Position Summary:
Under general direction transport students to and from school within designated righteous and ensure the safety of the student while passengers in the school vehicle. Receive supervision from the Supervisor of Transportation within a well-defined framework of standard policies and procedures. Transport students on special event trips. Perform daily inspections of bus or other transportation equipment. Operate school bus or other transportation equipment. Operate school bus and or delivery trucks in a safe manner.

1. Operate school bus and/or other transportation vehicles within prescribed routes in accordance with the time schedules. Pick up and discharge students at designated stops. Pick ups and discharge deliveries at designed stops.
2. Escort and assist students on and off vehicles and across the street when necessary.
3. Transport students and teachers on field trips to various locations, planning necessary routes and stops as needed.
4. Maintain order and proper discipline of student passengers according to district policy.
5. Instruct students on safety regulations and policies related to passenger conduct.
6. Conduct safety and operation inspection of assigned vehicle daily, noting fuel and oil levels.
7. Evacuate vehicle in a safe and timely manner when necessary and conducts periodic drills for same as required by law.

TECHNOLOGY STANDARD
Ravenswood City School District requires employees to have technology skills. E-mail, standard software usage and data entry may be employment requirements. Advanced technical skills may be obtained through on-job training as needed.
