Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the principal or designee and the immediate supervision of the ELD Coordinator, ELD Department Chair and ELD teachers, tutors assist students in the their ELD class to facilitate access to rigorous curriculum. The purpose of tutorials is to provide content area support in the ELD classroom. Additionally, the goal of tutorials is to develop habits of mind and higher standards of academic achievement among students and to help students become independent learners in order to increase their success during high school and in postsecondary educational options upon high school graduation

          QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND 1. High school graduate, preferably enrolled and in good academic standing in a local college or university. 2. Capable of providing positive support for students in individual and small group settings. 3. Exhibit good oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish. 4. Relate well to high school students of multicultural backgrounds and needs. 5. Reflect confidentiality with all of the academic and personal student information.
