Guidance Specialist (Elementary sites to be determined) Under the direction of the Site Principal, the Guidance Specialist to assist the principal in fulfilling his/her major responsibilities as chief administrative officer and educational leader of the school, act as the principal in the principal's absence from the school; assist in the development, implementation, evaluation and improvement of school district programs, policies and procedures. Plans and monitors the implementation of the Pre-5 Positive Behavior Intervention Program; monitors site attendance and implements programs to enhance attendance including Saturday School, incentive programs, mentorship programs, co/extra-curricular programs. Monitors student behavior and provides students with appropriate intervention and counseling opportunities to promote positive behavior. Develops positive relationships and provides effective leadership with students, staff, and parents for programs that promote positive student behavior and attendance and strong academic performance.
