Job Summary
The Independence Facilitator/Behavior support paraeducator will work in an assigned capacity designed for students with specialized needs. Primary function and purpose is to facilitate independence of students with special needs. Positions are 6 hours/day with 1/2 hour unpaid meal break. Monday through Friday. Schedule is based on student and department needs. Work during school hours and have weekends and school holidays off. Earn vacation, sick leave and holiday pay. Eligible for optional medical, District paid dental and vision insurance and CalPERS retirement membership.

Candidates interested in this position must be highly qualified per the ESSA as described below. Proof of the following must be provided: 1. A high school diploma or the equivalent, AND a. Two years of college (48 units), OR b. A. A. degree (or higher), OR c. Pass a local (County Office of Education) assessment of knowledge and skills in assisting in instruction. Also required prior to employment is a DOJ/FBI Live Scan Clearance and TB risk assessment clearance.
