Job Summary
Lead Mechanic PCN# 0033 Under general supervision. Performs a wide variety of mechanical operations: Effects repairs. Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. Develops maintenance schedules. Monitors fuel storage systems. Performs diagnosis and repairs and overhauls diesel and gasoline powered buses, passenger vehicles, light and heavy trucks, and other equipment as required. Oversees technical and functional aspects of vehicle maintenance area and staff. Plan, prioritize, assign, and oversee the work of all staff involved in vehicle and equipment maintenance. Develops and maintains accurate records to provide for scheduled maintenance of all fleet vehicles. Monitors fuel storage and delivery systems. Insures all records are accurately kept and state required reports are completed when necessary. Is also responsible for management of garage/maintenance equipment and facilities

*Must possess certificate with a valid class II or higher license. *An unrestricted California School Bus Driver Certificate is required within one year of employment. (District will provide training if required.)
*High School diploma or equivalent. (required) * Basic shop management experience (preferred) *Must possess unrestricted and valid California School Bus Drivers Certificate. (District will provide training if required)
