Job Summary
Under the direction of the Associate Superintendent Business Services, the Loss Control Analyst develops, implements and evaluates loss control and safety programs relating to fire, student, public, occupation, motor vehicle, and physical plant safety. Required Education and Experience: Any combination equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in business administration, occupational safety and health, risk management or closely related field, and a minimum of two years of professional experience in a similar position performing comparable scope of duties and responsibilities. Additional qualifying experience in public entity loss control programs is highly desirable.

The San Dieguito Union High School District operates under a merit system for employment. Candidates must successfully complete a qualifying examination process in order to be considered for employment. Completed applications are reviewed and candidates who meet the minimum qualifications participate in the following examinations:
Performance examination, weight: 50% and Qualifications Appraisal Interview, weight: 50%. At this time, exams are being administered virtually. Instructions for completing the exams will be emailed to candidates whose application demonstrates possession of the minimum qualifications shortly after the posting deadline.

The competitive basis for this recruitment is established as dual certification: candidates who pass all exams are placed on an eligibility list in order of overall exam score. The list is used to fill current and future vacancies for six months. This posting was updated after the 15 business days minimum application filing period. It is now posted as "open until filled". Applicants who meet the minimum education/experience requirements will continue to be invited to participate in the examination process until the position is filled.

Employment with San Dieguito Union High School District is contingent upon successful completion of post-offer background check, fingerprinting, physical exam including tuberculosis, drug and alcohol screening, and an Oath of Allegiance. Please note that our agency receives federal funding and must adhere to federal regulations; results which indicate marijuana use will be considered non-passing.
The probationary period for a new or promotional employee is six months or 130 days of paid service, whichever is longer. Management employees serve a probationary period of one year.
