Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the principal. Work with teacher to help with special instruction for students in academic and non-academic areas. Assists students in the use of art supplies, schedule and prepare art room for use by students, maintain and troubleshoot all equipment used in the art room. Responsible for the ordering and purchasing of art supplies. Assist in supervising students to maintain effective learning environment, noting behavioral problems observed and disciplining when necessary. QUALIFICATIONS: District desires energetic, outgoing person with high standards and ability to work constructively with children. High school diploma or recognized equivalent. Any combination of education and experience in art, art history or art instruction. Knowledge of California State Framework for the Visual and Performing Arts and Content Standards. Assist students with specific learning disabilities and/or limited English capabilities. Art instruction techniques and methods to motivate students. Bilingual in Spanish preferred
