Under the direction of the Principal, supervises noon and recess play activities which are in progress in the yard or playground.

NOON DUTY AIDE

 

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

Supervises noon and recess play activities which are in progress in the yard or playground.

Maintains firm but respectful and courteous attitude toward students in a consistent manner.

Circulates around the assigned play area; acts at all times in accordance with rules, regulations, policies and philosophy of the school and the district.

Attempts to prevent accidents and injury before they occur by recognizing conditions and situations likely to cause trouble; takes action to correct such conditions.

Monitors and assists in clean up in the eating areas.

Helps students to develop good habits of citizenship by insisting upon democratic behavior; encourages students to practice courtesy.

Refers any requests for leaving the school grounds to the principal or assistant principal.

Maintains confidentiality regarding student behavior.

Other duties as assigned.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

High school graduate.

State law requires employees to be fingerprinted; clearance from the Department of Justice is required prior to employment.

Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.

Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

Patient, efficient, and adaptable to constant change.

Parenting skills.

First Aid and CPR desirable.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical requirements indicated below are examples of the physical aspects that this position classification must perform in carrying out essential job functions.

·         Persons performing service in this position classification will exert 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

·         This type of work may involve walking or standing for extended periods.

·         Perceiving the nature of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, providing oral information.

      Location: TBD Hours: TBD by each site, ( 2.0 - 3.0 hrs. per day) Monday - Friday, 9.50 months per year. - Aides are eligible for 9 paid holidays during the school year. - Sick Leave and Vacation are earned on a percentage of the hours worked, per Ed Code.
