Any combination equivalent to: A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and experience working with infant-to-preschool aged children in a play-oriented learning or equivalent environment. Need to have at least 6 semester units of early childhood education and child development curriculum. Advancement to ECE Assistant III requires 12 semester college units in early childhood education and child development curriculum. Requires the ability to lift children, carry, push, and move supplies, furniture, etc., of light-to-medium weight (under 50 pounds) on an intermittent basis. Requires Pediatric First Aid and CPR Certificate within 90 days of employment.
If your application does not indicated "experience working with infant-to-preschool aged children in a play-oriented learning or equivalent environment", please provide copies of your college transcripts to show that you have additional education that can compensate for the experience requirement. Only those individuals that meet the minimum qualifications will be invited to take the examination.
