The Southern Humboldt Joint Unified School District crosses two counties, Mendocino and Humboldt, in the heart of the redwoods, extending from remote, mountain areas, to the Eel and Mattole River valleys, to Kings Range and out to the Lost Coast of the Pacific Ocean. The school district encompasses an area of approximately 773 square miles. The Southern Humboldt Unified School District wishes to announce an opening for a District Athletic Director. This position will be for the 2021-2022 school year. This position is paid an annual stipend of $7,550-$8,817 for Redway Elementary, Miranda depending on step placement. Athletic Director Annual Stipends by Site: South Fork High School AD: $5524-$6438 DOE Miranda Junior High School AD: $1289-$1510 DOE Redway Elementary: $737-869 DOE

SUMMARY • Interprets and participates in formulating athletic policies. • Prepares and disseminates publicity to promote athletic events. • Plans and coordinates activities of coaching staff. • Plans and schedules sport events, and oversees ticket sales activities. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Related experience and/or training. • Ability to carry out oral and written instructions. • Ability to write simple correspondence. • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations. • Ability to be flexible in meeting changing conditions and problems. • Ability to work cooperatively with those contacted in the course of the workday. • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with adults and children. • Completion of the 12th grade or equivalent. • CPR/First Aid certification (online courses are not acceptable) • Successfully completed Fundamentals of Coaching, Concussion, Protecting Students from Abuse and Sudden Cardiac Arrest certificates through Keenan SafeSchools or https://nfhslearn.com/ DESIREABLE QUALIFICATIONS • Valid California teaching credential.
