Curriculum:
Edgenuity will be used for EWCSD’s Virtual Learning Academy Learning Platform. Edgenuity Courseware enables students to take ownership over their learning, and supports educators with Teacher Powered Technology™ that helps them improve efficiency and maximize student success. Edgenuity’s Courseware curriculum is grounded in research and aligned to state standards, the Common Core, and the NGSS. Courses combine direct-instruction videos featuring expert, on-screen teachers with rigorous assignments, performance tasks, and assessments to engage students and ensure subject-area mastery. Courseware connects with students with a flexible offering that supports evolving instructional needs for fully online, blended, hybrid, and in-person instruction.
Instruction:
- Ensure that students have access to grade level platform
- Ensure that students are completing their daily hourly requirements in the core areas
- Reviewing student login activity throughout the week
- Provide differentiated support to students who are struggling academically as needed
- Monitor student progress and complete progress reports and report cards
- Provide parent conferences for Fall and Spring

The East Whittier City School District provides educational opportunities (transitional kindergarten through eighth grade, including special education) for approximately 8,600 children. The District employs approximately 1,075 teachers, administrators and support staff. We have 13 schools which operate on a traditional school year schedule.
