SCIENCE TEACHER: Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science at North Hollywood High School: Highly Gifted Magnet

About the Employer

The Highly Gifted Magnet at North Hollywood High School serves a culturally, ethnically and economically diverse group of roughly 300 students in grades 9 - 12. It is the only high school program in California tailored specifically to meet the needs of students identified as “highly gifted” (with an LAUSD intellectual assessment exam scoring in the 99.5%-99.9%). The magnet offers both the intimacy of a small community and the broad options of a large public high school. Students in the HGM pursue accelerated courses in science and often opt into multiple AP classes. Our students consistently demonstrate a passion to learn and a dedication to a pursuit of excellence. The program values teachers who reflect and nurture that energy and enthusiasm.
