The Vacancy: Substitute and Temporary (on call) positions for special education classes, one-on-one instructional aides to work with students with special needs (including behavioral, medical, etc.) These substitute/temporary positions are usually 2 or 3 ¾ hours per day. The Position: Supervises the activities of individuals or groups of students; implements teacher directed lessons; assists students; may type masters from various rough draft materials; maintains routine informational records, prepares reports of work completed and materials used; assembles instructional kits; prepares labels, charts, and displays as instructed; mounts maps; mixes paints; may provide or assist in providing specialized health care services when identified as a requirement in the individualized education program; assists in maintaining a neat and orderly environment; scores tests; supervise students during recess, lunch, and bus loading and unloading activities, provide personal attendant care for students. Assistance with eating, personal hygiene and restroom needs may be required.

Required Qualifications: Experience with youth activities in home, church, or community is desirable. A High School Diploma or GED; an AA degree or a minimum of 48 college units. Possession of a valid First Aid/CPR training certificate. Selection Procedure: The selection process may consist of a screening of training and experience and a qualification appraisal interview.
