Cardinal Newman High School seeks a Head Varsity Football Coach. With 26 sport teams, Cardinal Newman’s scholar athletes consistently and successfully compete at a high level. In 2015 & 2017 Cardinal Newman was honored to receive the Elmer Brown Award from the North Coast Section CIF, an award for ranking first among 170 Northern California schools whose students have excelled both on the field and in the classroom. Cardinal Newman is located in the wine producing area of Sonoma County. Santa Rosa is fifty miles north of San Francisco and has a population of approximately 175,000.

Job Summary:
Oversees all aspects of the athletic program including: Establishes a competitive schedule and coordinates team travel, organizes sports camps, promotes the team, coordinates practice planning, skill development, and designs coaching strategies which prepare team for competition. Establishes and enforces rules of conduct as well as mentors student-athletes to foster athletic, academic, emotional, and spiritual growth. Supports community service efforts by involving the coaching staff as well as student-athletes. Provides professional development of assistant coaches by providing expanded responsibilities, regular oral and written appraisals, and annual performance reviews. Demonstrates adherence to school, NCS, and CIF rules and regulations.
