Open until filled. Please ask if you have any timeline needs. REACH School Director Position Description The REACH School is a Project Based Learning program for grades K-8. The REACH School is founded on the vision of supporting the emerging child in becoming a whole person through the integration of strong academics, creative arts and community involvement in an environment that fosters responsibility and respect for self and others. Our curriculum emphasizes experiential and social emotional learning. Students participate in age-appropriate field trips of increasing length, are mentored in their project work by community experts, and participate in multiple presentations and revisions of their work with authentic audiences. At present, we are a Positive Discipline Lab School and are midway through a multiyear training program with Welcoming Schools. As an organization, REACH is focused on continuous improvement in all areas of our program, including equity and inclusion as well as academics. The director represents the aspirations of the school and its vision, to our school community and to Sonoma County as a whole. As such, the director models our values of communication, empathy, self-reflection and lifelong learning in all their interactions. In addition, the Director is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and direction of the charter’s operations, including Special Ed. REACH is its own LEA and works with Sonoma Selpa to deliver excellent resources to all students who need them. The Director implements all REACH Parent Foundation and Charter requirements for the school in accordance with law and the charter. Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in a field supportive of and related to the charter program Five or more years of classroom teaching and administrative experience or the equivalent Verifiable record of managing, and interpreting school budgets, standard financial reports and summaries Demonstrate experience similar to the REACH School Mission and values. Desirable Verifiable record of successful leadership in a senior administrative position in a charter school, a charter management organization, a public school or a private school Verifiable record of successful collaboration with parent- and community-based boards Substantial experience in: thematic, inquiry-based instruction program incorporating the arts into grades K-8 curriculum leveling and differentiation of instruction volunteer recruitment and management Current California Administrative Credential
