Job Summary

We are looking for a dynamic teacher to join our team. This teacher will teach all junior high history for 6-8th grade, as well as current events. This teacher will collaborate with other teachers incorporating technology and cross-curricular projects. This teacher will teach journalism concepts and facilitate a monthly school newspaper written by 6-8th grade students to be shared with our parish school community. This teacher will also be our 6th-grade homeroom teacher and assist 6th-grade students with organization. St. Catherine of Siena School is a thriving parish school community. Our goal is to educate students in our faith while placing a high value on academics. We accomplish this with parental support through an emphasis on the Catholic values of respect for human dignity, respect for creation and environment, care and compassion, honesty and integrity, forgiveness, peace, faithfulness, service, love, and justice. 2021-2022 is our 36th year. Our current enrollment is 250 students in Kindergarten through 8th-grade. Our school population is 95% Catholic. Our experienced faculty work well together. As lifelong learners, they participate in professional development workshops throughout the year. We provide a full curriculum in Common Core standards teaching Religion, Math, Literature/Reading, Writing/Language, Science, Social Studies, Art, Computer, Music, Physical Educa on and Spanish for all students Kindergarten-8th grade. In working toward the diocesan goal of preparing students for college and career, we prepare our students well for high school academically, technologically, and in presentation skills. It is important for us to monitor student progress; we do this through regular and formative and assessments. Students in 3rd through 8th grades take the Renaissance Place Star Assessments four times during the school year.
