Job Summary
Job Summary
Under administrative direction of the Superintendent, plan, organize, direct, and oversee the activities and operations of the Human Resources Department which includes employee recruitment, selection, salary and positional placement, transfer, promotion, layoff and separation processes. Assure compliance with applicable District rules and policies, State and Federal laws, codes and regulations; oversee the evaluation process for all District employees; serve as a member of the Superintendent’s cabinet; member of District collective bargaining team including contract management for all bargaining units; provide highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Superintendent; and other related functions as directed.

Experience: Any combination of experience and education that could provide the required knowledge and ability would be qualifying. Experience in education setting is preferred. Areas may include but are not limited to the following: •Three to five years of responsible personnel administration experience which may include management and supervisory experience; •Completion of training through a Personnel Institute or Personnel Academy. The Redding School District is comprised of four K-5 schools, two K-8 schools, one 6-8 middle school, home study and independent study programs, charter schools, as well as extensive intervention services and alternative programs. Redding is located in one of the most beautiful areas in Northern California. It is well known for its fishing, skiing, hunting and water sports opportunities. Redding has a community college, a private four-year university and provides a variety of educational and cultural activities.
If offered the position, the following will be required prior to beginning work:
1. DOJ/FBI clearance (fingerprints)
2. Pre-employment physical
3. TB clearance-completed no more than 60 days prior to beginning work.
