As the California Virtual Academies are public schools and this is a public school teacher position, these are set contracted hours and you must be available/working during these hours while under contract with the California Virtual Academies. You are not allowed to have another job during these contracted hours.

August 2021- Immediate hires as needed throughout the 2021-2022 school year. We are an enrollment based school, we may need to hire teachers at any time throughout the year as our enrollment continues to grow.

Our Administrative Office is located in Simi Valley, CA, but most of our teachers work from home.

ABOUT THE DESTINATIONS CAREER ACADEMY AT CALIFORNIA VIRTUAL ACADEMIES (DCA @ CAVA) AND THE HS CTE TEACHER POSITIONS: The California Virtual Academies (a network of 9 public charter schools) delivers online/virtual home-based instruction to TK-12 students in California. We use Stride curriculum as the basis for instruction and teachers provide live instruction via the Newrow platform. While our schools do offer some scheduling flexibility, students are still required to log attendance, attend instructional sessions, and complete coursework daily. In the DCA @ CAVA, we believe in collaboration across content areas and embrace a Project-Based Learning model.

THIS POSTING IS FOR CONSIDERATION AS A HS CTE TEACHER AT THE CALIFORNIA VIRTUAL ACADEMIES, FOR POSITIONS THAT MAY ARISE DURING THE 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR. HS CTE teachers carry a caseload of both content & homeroom students. They meet with content students throughout the week in their virtual classrooms to provide direct & targeted instruction, as well as support students in coursework, provide additional one-to-one support, & feedback, & grade work within three days of submission. Teachers build lasting relationships with their homeroom students through regular communication throughout the school year & monitor attendance, progress, & engagement, providing interventions when necessary to ensure students remain engaged & learning. We do our best to assign homeroom students locally as teachers are required to plan & attend in person outings & events; CTE relevant events when applicable. CTE teachers communicate daily with learning coaches & families via telephone, web conferencing, & email, act as a CTSO Advisor, hold parent/teacher/student conferences quarterly, attend virtual meetings, & participate in PLCs, data conferencing, & professional development, both virtually and in-person. HS CTE teachers may meet with their students face-to-face for tutoring and at other in-person opportunities. All teachers are required to proctor state testing. HOURS AND SALARY INFORMATION:
