The Governing Board of the Bonsall Unified School District seeks a superintendent with a strong vision of educational excellence at all levels. The successful candidate must be dedicated, resourceful, and of the highest personal and professional character. The Board seeks an individual with strong communication skills who seeks to build consensus among stakeholders with a solutions based mindset. The successful candidate must bring strong relationship-building skills and an eagerness to actively engage in community activities. The selected superintendent must be visible, a motivator, have high expectations, and hold themselves and others accountable. The ideal candidate makes decisions based on what best supports the academic, social, and emotional success of all preK-12 students. The successful candidate must be an instructional leader with a proven track record of improving student achievement and outcomes.

This position requires a valid California Administrative Services credential and at least three (3) years’ experience in public K-12 school administration. Master’s degree required. The successful candidate will be offered a contract with a competitive and negotiable salary based on qualifications, experience, and skill set.

The district serves the educational needs of 2554 students in preschool through 12th grade. There is a focus on high achievement and accountability for all students. The district supports a balanced curriculum that includes character education and supports the diversity in our community.
The six-person Board of Trustees governs the policies and programs of the district. The current composition of the Board reflects high personal academic achievement and professional accomplishments. Each member of the Board has committed to the mission and vision of the district. The site administrators demonstrate pride in their individual schools while maintaining cooperative efforts among all schools.
The district has been in continuous operation since 1895.
